"Impuls Solidari": crossing the Titan Desert with soldiarid... and with Tannus

Martí on the bike competing in the Titan Desert 2024

When he was 3 years old, Marti was left without mobility in all his limbs for more than 3 months. He was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a minority disease that would leave him with a disability of 66%.

Years later, Martí crossed the desert by bicycle and learned that his body would "never set his limits". Yes, he completed the Titan Desert, one of the toughest mountain bike stage races in the world. And this year he wants to do it again. This time with a solidarity challenge.

IMPULS SOLIDARI, A SOLIDARITY AND CYCLING PROJECT

"Impuls Solidari". is more than a solidarity project: it is a demonstration of how cycling can become a powerful tool for social transformation. Led by the Martí Álvarez Together with his brother Jan and his friend Quim Riera, this initiative unites sport and social commitment in a clear mission: to raise funds for research into rare childhood diseases at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu.where she has been treated all her life, specifically for the project UNIQUE.

Martí was able to fulfill one of his dreams and finish the Titan Desert. And now he wants to help other children like him to fulfill their dreams.

"Last year's Titan was a personal challenge. This year it's a shared challenge: we need your help to improve the lives of other children like me."

Protected with Tannus in the dunes of the Titan Desert

Like many PRO Teams and riders, the 3 young cyclists will be looking to cross the desert on their Tannus-equipped wheels in order to protect your tires and avoid punctures. In this way, they will be sure not to suffer punctures and minimize the risks of unforeseen events and problems, so feared in a race like the Titan. Last year they already managed to do it without using inserts, but they learned their lesson and this time they are looking to make it a little easier, if completing the Titan Desert can be made any "easier". With Tannus Tubeless, they not only reduce these risks, but they can also lower pressures without fear of breaking the tire.

With the help of Tannus Tubeless, they will be able to cross the desert dunes with minimum pressures without any risk, in addition to avoiding any unforeseen event or scare due to punctures or flat tires. In fact, they will run like the last winner of all the stages of all the 2024 Titan Deserts, Tessa Kortekaas, who, together with Tannus, was proclaimed the true and undisputed queen of the desert. That's why the Tannus becomes essential for crossing the dunes also for professional teams like Cannondale ISB or Flyz Montenevado, as it allows them to go to the limit and get the most out of every pedal stroke.

Cycling as a vital pillar and a loudspeaker of solidarity

This first and great challenge of completing the Titan Desert Morocco 2025is a personal achievement that turns the project into a platform to give visibility to children living with rare diseases and, above all, to fight against these diseases. For our part, we wish them all the luck in the world and send them all our strength and support to meet this great challenge. Martí, Jan and Quim: We wish you all the best!
