WHICH MATERIAL ARE THE TANNUS COMPOSED OF?
The Tannus are composed by a material called Aither. Its material as well as it’s anchoring system are patented worldwide. It is a material that is constantly evolving.
The previous collection developed its first version of Aither 1.0 and the evolution of the material gave place to Aither 1.1, what supposed an improvement of the features and this is the material with which all the models of the new collections are manufactured.
CAN I RIM-OFF WITH TANNUS?
No. If the process of installation is performed correctly, the Tannus won’t rim-off thanks to its system with 40 anchor points. Apart from the tests performed by our athletes, there are lab reports that indicate that the resistance is superior when compared to the tubular tires. Tannus has a certificate by TUV in security material.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM RECOMMENDED WEIGHT?
The maximum weight that we recommend so that the Tannus keep their performance is of 150 kg.
WHAT IS THE LIFESPAN OF THE TANNUS?
The duration of the Tannus depends on of various factors like the field and the driving. Still, the factory guaranties a minimum duration of 6.000 km. For example, the Tannus have crossed USA from tip to toe. With Tannus you can increase the lifespan of the traditional rims and accordingly to the using conditions it can last a lifetime.
WHAT IS THE BEHAVIOR OF TANNUS IN WET CONDITIONS?
Its behavior is the same or even better than the conventional tires. Although there are not specific tires for rain, in the North of Europe they were used by the first users, and with rainy weather, there were no noticeable differences. Furthermore, the lab reports confirm this.
WHAT PRACTICES ARE INAPPROPIATE FOR TANNUS?
Spinning out isn’t a recommended practice for the Tannus because the material can suffer a fast deterioration. The Tannus can duplicate or triplicate the lifespan of the normal tires. But if you spin out the lifespan reduces drastically.
In some fixie bike communities they either use the front as well as the back wheel, but our recommendation is that you only use the front wheel.
DO THEY WORK WITH ALL TYPES OF TIRES?
The Tannus work with all types of ‘clincher’ rims, which represents most of the rims of the market (95%). At this moment they don’t work with the tubular. Each Tannus model is compatible with a range of determined inner rim widths.
HOW CAN I KNOW MY INNER RIM WIDTH?
You have to follow the next steps:
WHAT DO I NEED TO INSTALL MY TANNUS?
When you buy the Tannus we provide you with everything that you need for its assembly: The tool, all the different kinds of PINS, and the detailed instructions. Furthermore, we offer you the following installation tutorial video.
WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT OF THE INSTALLATION?
The selection of pins is the key for the installation process. In the installation kit there are various sets of pins included so that you can choose the one that is 3,5 mm bigger than the inner width of your tire.
You can check if it is the right one inserting the pin in the rim and turning it around. If it is loose and it doesn’t fit it means that it is too short. If you can’t turn it around although you apply some strength, it means that it is too big. The adequate pin is the one that you insert, that you can turn around and that stays fixed.
WHO CAN INSTALL MY TANNUS?
If you prefer to go to a professional so that he can install your Tannus, you can go to one of our points of sale. In the section points of sale you can select your city and find which one is closest to you. The workforce can go between the 20 and 30 euros.See compatibility table
HOW CAN I UNINSTALL THE TANNUS?
For the uninstallation of the Tannus we have several options, however this is not an easy task, It is more easy to install them than to uninstall, and this has to do with the great security that they provide. That’s why we recommend that you perform the installation in rims that you think that you are not going to change in a short period of time.
