3 Bicycle routes in northern Spain

The north of Spain is perhaps one of the most beautiful places where you can find bike routes that will remain etched in your mind. Green landscapes like nowhere else, a pleasant climate even in summer and trails and roads for all types of cyclists. Of course, there are many anecdotes and images that have stayed in our minds and now, we want to share them with our community.

1. Tour of the Andara massif in the Picos de Europa.

It is one of the most demanding and technical bike routes that can be done in the area. However, we know that many of you are experienced cyclists and therefore, we want to propose you this challenge. This circular route winds its way for 64km between valleys and mountains, however, what makes it classified as very difficult is its elevation gain: 3.138m. Also keep in mind that a good part of the adventure runs through rocky roads and steep climbs so it is a perfect route to do with your mountain E-bike.

2. Another of the best cycling routes: The Northern route.

Perhaps one of the attractions that make this one of the most popular bike routes among cyclists is its versatility. The 830km of adventure can be divided into the stages you want according to the distance you want to travel each cyclist. Enjoy beaches, cliffs, small coastal towns or provincial capitals ... this route has it all! The ideal type of bike is undoubtedly the gravel or road bike, however the route offers different variants and detours that are ideal for road bikes or MTB.

3. Cangas de Onís - Lakes of Covadonga

How many summers have we watched the Vuelta a España on TV? One of the most iconic stages, without a doubt, is the ascent to the Lagos de Covadonga. It is one of the most beautiful road bike routes with a nice prize when you reach your destination, but you will have to overcome the 12 km that has the port. At the end, however, you are greeted by the Picos de Europa and the green meadows that characterize Asturias telling you "It was worth it to climb this far".
