Puncture-free training from home with Tannus
The roller or home trainers are the ideal training partners for our bikes, with these we keep ourselves in shape and increase our dopamine levels from home.
With the current situation in which we find ourselves, state of alarm and confinement due to (Covid-19), they become more necessary than ever and the 100% airless Tannus tires are the best option to avoid one of the main problems that occur with the use of the roller, the puncture.
With the #YOENTRENOENCASA movement we can see professional and non-professional athletes share their training routines and very practical advice, but above all they are generating a great message, responsible training from home.
That is why we want to help you continue doing this good practice and we will explain the advantages of using Tannus on the roller.
TYPES OF ROLLERS
In the market we can find different types of rollers, the most known and compatible with the Tannus are:
BALANCE ROLLER – ROLLERS
The rollers offer little resistance to pedaling and improve balance and skill on the bike. Widely used by track riders, in the following Instagram post you can see how professional track rider Maksym Lopatiuk (Georgia) uses it.
These bicycle rollers use a fluid, usually oil, for the pedal resistance system. The regulation is done by the pedaling energy and the gear ratio we use. They are the quietest and most realistic.
They are generally the most used and cheapest. Pedaling resistance is by means of magnets and a fan, which are usually adjustable. They are less realistic and a little more noisy but we can find options within this type of roller in which this aspect has been improved. Some are wireless and have their simulation app.
WHY TANNUS AND NOT ANOTHER TIRE?
AVOID PUNCTURES AND INNER TUBE BURSTS
One of the main problems when using the roller is a tube puncture or blowout.
With traditional tires, foreign objects that are embedded in the outer exits give rise to a puncture by rubbing, forming a hole, with Tannus this does not occur.
Tires tend to get very hot when used on a roller and by extension the inner tube, which results in a blowout. The Tannus does not need an inner tube, so this problem is avoided.
Since it does not have an inner tube, the rim strip is unnecessary, unlike traditional tires. If the rim strip breaks, the inner tube is pinched by the spoke hole, which also causes a puncture.
GREAT DURABILITY AND MULTIPURPOSE
Thanks to the compound Aither the Tannus’, unlike other tires, have a great durability and lifetime, we guarantee +6,000 km.
In addition, another important factor is that you can use them in roller and outdoors, you will not have to change the cover for each use.
YOUR BIKE ALWAYS READY
The Tannus are solid but not rigid tires, the compound Aither, is formed by 1 million microbubbles of closed air which allows us to manipulate the pressure and define the equivalent hardness, Hard (high inflation pressure) and Regular (standard inflation pressure).
This pressure is kept constant and your bike will always be ready, without maintenance.
The compound is super lightweight and adapts to any surface including the roller.
TIPS FROM OUR TANNUSRIDER’S
Juan Carlos, better known in the networks as @juancarloscrazysport, is a physical trainer, radio broadcaster, ultra-distant vegan runner but above all an authentic #TannusRider.
In the following post he shares some very useful tips for the use of the roller.
An additional precaution when we have just done our session is to remove the bike from the roller, depending on use, the Tannus may have a very high temperature and if we leave it on top of the roller may result in some deformation.
CHOOSE YOUR TANNUS
You only have to choose the model, color and hardness of your Tannus
