TANNUSRIDERS AT THE GEOCENTRUM OF BARCELONA

Last Sunday, October 9th, Geocentrum was held at La Base Náutica de la Mar Bella and the Tannusriders team did not miss the appointment. Mónika, Ille, Marc (from Standupforbrompton) and Palmer prepared for the 120 km that awaited them in this event organized by Volata, Rueda and Pterodactyl and sponsored by Bike Tech SL, Tannus and Standupforbrompton.

Tannusriders Geocentrum

Geocentrum is a cycling event for mixed teams of 4 members that runs on asphalt and dirt roads through towns, cities, natural parks and secondary roads. During the event the team members have to pass through checkpoints proposed by the organization within the timetable marked by the organization. The checkpoints are designed for each of them. In addition to the mandatory checkpoints, there are also optional checkpoints at which participants can earn time bonuses. All those registered for the race receive a passport before the start of the race and have to present it at each of the checkpoints.

The start was timed and every two minutes a team would start and the team that took the least time to pass through all the checkpoints would start the race.role was proclaimed winner. Both the start and the finish took place at the same point: The Nautical Base of the Mar Bella.

The race took place on asphalt roads and dirt tracks and each team took the route they considered appropriate for the type of bike they were riding.

The best thing about the Geocentrum? The route was totally SECRET until 20:00 the day before, when the organization sent an email to the participants with the location and checkpoints, making it even more exciting!

Some checkpoints were mandatory and others were optional. Mandatory checkpoints had to be completed by all members of each team in order to complete the race, and if any of them were omitted, the validity of the course would be nullified. Optional checkpoints carried a time bonus if they were made, being mandatory for all team members to pass through that point.

This was the tour:

The checkpoints, at the same time, were divided into categories:

➜PhysicalA member of the organization validated the passport of the participants.

➜Photographs: Teams had to upload a photo to Instagram showing that they had been at the checkpoint location.

➜Supply. At this checkpoint the runners had to feed and hydrate themselves as well as validate their passport.

➜ Timed leg: The organization marked a series of timed sections.

The tannusriders team experienced many anecdotes before, during and after the race, and it was a fun experience for everyone. They were already at an advantage because with the Tannus there were no punctures to regret!

With these Tannus-equipped Bromptons they participated in the Geocentrum:

They opted for bright colors to be identified at all times, and the black Tannus were left for the dog, who now has an IRROMPIBLE toy!

While tuning up the bike the night before the race, they discovered the broken wires...
