WHICH BRANDS ARE RELYING ON TANNUS?

More and more brands are joining the anti-puncture revolution and betting on Aither technology to incorporate them as standard on their bicycles.

Today we tell you how Chacle, Specialized, Vitoria Bikes, Gi FlyBikes and Frank, brands with different backgrounds but with something in common: To provide users of their bikes with greater safety and comfort and at the same time, less worries.

Let's get started:

1- CHACLE

Chacle is a Japanese company that has already sold 160,000 bicycles in three years, all of them equipped with Tannus puncture-proof bicycle tires. In a Japanese market where bicycle sales are declining, these figures are extremely revealing. It is clear that in a crisis, betting on technological innovation is the best way out.

For city bikes like this one, airless tires make a lot of sense and at Tannus we already promoted airless models with a collaboration with Specialized last year. In fact, the use of Tannus tires by Chacle predates Specialized Bikes, who incorporate the tires on the Alibi bike, under their own Nimbus Airless brand.

But Tannus had already been working with the Japanese motorcycle brand Chacle for 3 years.

The Chacle range has proved very popular in Japan, and is sold both in supermarkets such as Aeon, Japan's largest supermarket, and in conventional bicycle stores.

In Japan they have become increasingly popular, and the feedback is very positive. 'Weight is not a problem, they are as light as conventional tires and at the same time very comfortable. They also make pedaling easier, as they have low rolling resistance'. These are the words of Tannus CEO Young Ki Lee.

On both road and Brompton models, the benefits most highlighted for the Tannus have been the fact that you don't have to check pressure or carry a spare pump. The Tannus Slick road model has been certified for grip and performance by the German inspection organization TUV, which concluded that they match or exceed the performance of equivalent tires.

In the United Kingdom, more than 50,000 units of the tires have been sold since they went on sale two years ago.

Jazz Walia, sales director of Tannus Europe, says: "Tannus is proving to be a great success as consumers are recommending it to their friends and family after trying it.

2- SPECIALIZED

We had already advanced in this post how the Specialized brand opted for Tannus and its Aither technology in its new Alibi range.

The Specialized tires were manufactured as part of an exclusive global agreement for Tannus tires on a custom basis. They were tested for both touring, training and city riding with Brompton and the feedback was positive in all cases.

Nimbus Airless tires come with a width of 38 mm, so there is plenty of contact with the road surface. Its Aither material is composed of a micro-closed cell polymer resin. It is a material similar to the compound used to make running shoe soles.

Specialized estimates that the Nimbus Airless tires account for 35% of the Alibi's price, but this pays off for the rider because of the tires' lifespan and at the same time because they say goodbye to punctures for good.

Another feature of the Alibi is that it includes an alloy frame with brackets and a fender, Shimano 7-speed shifting and Specialized's own V-brakes.

Airless tires are included on 3 other bikes in the Alibi range. This is a step up from the base Alibi Sport models with and without horizontal bar.

3- VITORIA BIKES

In this case, it is the Spanish brand specialized in bicycles since 1988. Its goal has always been to offer a bicycle tailored to its customers, guaranteeing their enjoyment and solving the needs of cyclists with very different profiles.

They include models for road cyclists, mountain bikers, everyday cyclists and those who choose to cycle during leisure and free time.

They are aware that customers are increasingly demanding when it comes to choosing a product, and even more so when it comes to a bicycle, so they consider it vital to take into account all tastes and preferences.  In Vitoria they listen to the customer to offer him what he wants, both in design and quality.

It is not a matter of mass production to sell to the market, but of targeting your needs directly. They offer to customize your bike by providing various component assembly and painting options - and therein lies the secret of their success!

Thus, the model was born Vitoria NyXtralight CXa gravel or cyclocross type model for road and single track use. They can also be used as urban bikes.

It is clear that a business model that is based on listening to the needs of its customers has the necessary ingredients to be a success, and Vitoria Bikes knows it. They have recently opened a physical store in Barcelona where you can take a closer look at their bikes.

4- GI FLYBIKE

Kickstarter's #1 brand was born in Argentina after a national strike that paralyzed public transportation. The founders detected a need after seeing that many users depended on public transportation and did not have the independence to make their own journeys in the city.

After a long investigation, they realized that cycling is still the best way to get around the city (and it looks like this is going to be the case for a long time to come!).

Gi FlyBike's goal is to modernize bicycle technology by offering a product that meets technological needs, adapts to cities and promotes a more sustainable world. It is aboutthe first product of the company Bignay Inc, which is dedicated to improving urban space, although its mission extends far beyond that.

Its efforts are focused on introducing technology in metropolitan areas that harness human energy in a sustainable way and have a positive impact on the environment.

Gi Fly is its first revolution and in this line, the team decided to incorporate the model Tannus Razorblade on all its urban electric folding bikes.

Since Tannus breaks with the concept of planned obsolescence and maintenance-free, they help to keep the environment clean of components resulting from repairs and spare parts.

5- FRANK

The recently launched brand of electric bicycles has also joined the bandwagon of brands that incorporate Tannus as standard. At the moment they have equipped some models of their bikes with Tannus Semi Slick, and soon we will see more models, stay tuned!
