Behind every touring bike hides an adventurer eager to ride gravel routes that will remain etched in his or her memory. Exploring paths, often improvised, create moments that can only be experienced on a gravel bike. That's why we want to share with you the 3 routes that have left the best memories in our minds.
First of the gravel routes: Montsec Bikepacking Loop
Let's start with the main course: The most demanding route with a gravel bike that we are going to recommend in this post. More than 300 kilometers, which we divide into 3 stages, and 7000 meters of positive elevation gain force us to go as light as possible.
This is one of the lesser known gravel routes that runs through a protected natural area between rivers, marshes and ravines. Along the way we will also find small villages and hermitages that invite us to stop for a moment to breathe pure nature or to take a photo like this one.
Les Muntanyes de Prades on gravel bike
This is a circular route starting and finishing in Salou, a town on the Costa Daurada. Undoubtedly, chaining small villages along its almost 130 km, make this a gravel route somewhat different from the others. On a technical level, it is a difficult and demanding route, although highly enjoyable for regular cyclists. If you want a gravel challenge, this is your route.

Catalunya Gravel Tour
It is perhaps one of the best known gravel routes in Catalonia because it is suitable for the vast majority of cyclists. Just over 60km are enough to fill you with adventure and experience many different landscapes. You will find stretches of road, compact gravel tracks and many fast trails, therefore, we recommend carrying a wide wheel for the more technical sections. However, we should mention that this is an organized race with a registration fee that is usually around 25 €.
